About Wilmington String Orchestra
The Wilmington String Orchestra, formerly know as Strings Attached, offers its students the opportunity to begin the study of a stringed instrument in grade 4. Students can continue to study their instrument all the way through high school including playing in concerts and other performance events. Students study the basics of string instrument technique and music theory. They work on improving their technique and skills through exercises, small group playing, full orchestra literature, and method book study.
Jennifer Perkins is the Director of the Wilmington Public Schools (Strings) Orchestra. She instructs students from the 4th grade all the way through high school and leads the district's orchestra for this group of young musicians. Mrs. Perkins joined the Wilmington music family in 2014, bringing her enthusiasm, energy and musical talent with her.
